When Things Bloom | Spring Exhibition
This May, Mint will celebrate the oncoming of spring by curating a new exhibition under the much promising title ‘When Things Bloom’. The event will be organised in collaboration with Brompton Design District, an institution recognised for encouraging development of design initiatives in the Brompton area.
A handful of designers will be carefully selected for their ability to reinterpret nature in a warm and emotive manner, resulting in this wonderful selection of aesthetically pleasing and fully functionally pieces.
All presented works will be indivualy hand crafted using innovative techniques, the result of experimentation focused on the inherent properties of natural materials.
The combined effect is an installation charged with poetic connotations and striking aesthetics.

October brings ‘Growing Vases’ by Nendo for Lasvit at Mint!
Dear Mint Readers,
For the month of October, Mint is proud to present ‘Growing Vases’ a design lighting installation by Japanese architectural and design studio Nendo for Czech Bohemian glass company Lasvit.
The installation takes on a playful nature exploring the impractical and the incomplete. The metal pipes used by the glass blower remain in the blown glass and are transformed into abstract flowers and branches, alluding to a whimsical glass forest breathing with life.
Mint Explores Celebrates
I cannot believe that the London Design Festival 2011 is over! It seems like just yesterday we were frantically preparing for it. Here’s a little recap of Mint Explores.
I am thrilled to announce that the opening night was a success! With the turn out of approximately 300 people, the night was buzzing with good food, good wine and good cheer.
So here’s a big THANK YOU to everyone who attended and contributed in making the night one to remember.
Diamonds and Dead Things at Mint
We are very excited about this unique jewellery collection by Kelly McCallum and Marta Mattsson, which modernises the cabinet of curiosities and injects the collections with humour, glamour and a twist of Victoriana.
These beautiful unique broaches by Kelly McCallum use taxidermy, precious metals and precious stones.
Marta Mattson integrates a range of taxidermy and insects into her jewelry as part of her rebirth series.
These seemingly delicate bow broaches are made from reindeer skin.
These broaches made from taxidermy birds resemble a bird that has crash landed.
Each of Kelly McCallum’s broaches comes with its own custom display case that can be hung on the wall.
All photographs by Inge Clemente.
We hope, we will have the opportunity to welcome you to our temporary curiositorium and talk you through the collection. For more information on any of these pieces, please call us on +44 207 225 2228 or email us at sales@mintshop.co.uk
