Celebrated ‘Anniversary’ at Mint

Leanne Richards ‘Anniversary’ Series at Mint

The excitement of our new exhibition ‘When Things Bloom‘ had us look back over some of the past designers at Mint.  One of which was the simple yet elegant works of Leanne Richards who’s work was exhibited during London Design Festival 2012 at Mint.

The ‘Anniversary‘ series was born from an exploration of materials and the associations we have with them, as opposed to relying on a batch of luxurious materials to create desirable products. the project investigated a collection of inexpensive materials.

The products utilise the materials that we associate with the first 10 years of marriage as a way of demonstrating the value of design over the monetary value of the materials. In comparison to materials on the list such as diamonds and ruby, the first 10 are ‘less desirable’ however ‘Anniversary‘ aims to celebrate these materials through a range of beautiful products.
