Mesmerised by the patterns and the imperfections of reclaimed materials including: marble, travertine, and wood planks, Filip Janssens has created a lighting collection that explores the potential of material combinations and exciting architectural compositions. To highlight the beauty of the material and its imperfections, an LED strip is installed into the hood of the lamp creating a soft warm illumination. The Lunair Light won a Henry van de Velde Award in the Design-led Crafts category.
This collection is exclusive to Mint.

Designer Filip Janssens founded his studio in 2007 to develop his personal approach to product design, furniture design, and art. Additionally, he collaborates with design editors such as Serax and Per Use.

“For me, designing is like painting an abstract geometric composition in 3D: lines become dimensions, volumes, modules. In order to create these compositions, I am constantly exploring the possibilities with modular volumes. Using volume in volume and asymmetry, working with modules in different sizes, layers and depths, playing with open and closed volumes or, for example, only showing the outline of a volume.” – Filip Janssens
