Joel Parkes is a British artist who produces sculptural artworks and forms made of local sustainable wood from West Dorset. His hand carved pieces are designed physiologically, highlighting the imperfections of wood to create beautifully crafted pieces.

Originally trained at Chelsea College of Art as a Public Artist, Joel Parkes has established a studio to produce sculptural artworks and forms for the home and gallery spaces.

To create his collection of vessels he uses either dead or fallen trees, diseased or aged that would most likely end up in a bonfire. He hand carves the wood into vessel forms incorporating metals and colours, accentuating the wood grain.
