Linen Tablewear
Through their designs, Once Milano wanted to revive the artisan experience in the history of fine textiles, based on a strong, long-term Italian tradition. They wanted to breathe life into it, in both a timeless and contemporary way. Once Milano saw linen as a great way to do this. It is elegant yet easy – easy to use, easy to wear, easy to maintain. Linen is breathable and cool, but it also allows for great colour expression; something that they focus on when creating the vibrant colour range.
The linens are made in stunning colours that can brighten, and bring joy to any interior.
Making all of the products by hand results in a more lengthy and expensive process, but one that Once Milano feel is worthwhile as it preserves the authenticity of the final product, while giving each individual piece a unique feel. The process is as important as the final product.
While there is a need to progress and stay relevant in modern times, maintaining a strong artisan core is of fundamental importance to the business. Once Milano have done this by introducing new concepts and new designs, exploring new materials, and testing new ways of producing.
Their products retain the spirit of the traditional values but are contemporary fabrics, because of their vibrant colours and different dyeing methods. All of the products are dyed after being sewn and do not require ironing, as most traditional linens do. This makes them incredibly easy to care for as well, enhancing the personal feel and expression of the fabric.
