Hand Made & High Tech at Mint

There are many young experimental designers in London but none more so than the duo Attua Aparicio and Oscar Wanless of Silo Studio.  They have developed a unique way of transforming polyurethane, a traditional industrial material that’s usually favoured for its functionality over its aesthetic, to create weird and wonderful forms.  So far we have seen Silo Studio create jewellery, bowls and even coat stands (see images below).

The duo have now begun to use the same language to create contemporary blown glass, producing a range of glassware that has been textured by canvas to create unique and tactile surfaces.  Click on the link below to see how they are made.
