Martina Zilova – Cobalt Bowls

Martina Zilova graduated from Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem and from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Featured in Mint’s Spring Forms exhibition in 2015, her Cobalt Bowls are made of porcelain by turning technique.

This technique consists of taking away a cobalt blue engobe step by step by whipping tools, specially made for this technique. The edge of the whipping tool oscillates when it touches the shard and makes specific imprints around the surface of the product. This process produces a unique décor which cannot be repeated.
Martina Zilova – Alchymie Vases
Featured in Mint’s White Canvas Exhibition for LDF 2016, these works compare to alchemistic chemistry of combining various materials and porcelain to create a range of dark colours. The colours were applied onto forms inspired by the diversity of the alchemistic vessels, morphing the retort and flask form into vases.
Krehký Gallery – Our Flora
Established by Jana Zielinski and Jirí Macek in 2010, Czech brand Krehký aims to continue in the tradition of old Czech handicraft and applied arts, enriching our homes with objects that transform everyday moments into exceptional ones. Each of Krehký’s collection is created in collaboration with leading designers from all over the world.

Designed by Klara Šumová and illustrated by Michal Bacák, the Our Flora vases are an atlas of stories inspired by the plant world.Each vase is inspired by a different flower, with tulips, roses, peonies, sunflowers, violets, floating on the surface, highlighting the brilliant elegance of flowers in bloom.
